This guide covers the Persistent Buff consumables in Remnant: From the Ashes which help the player with a beneficial stat increase that lasts through death. You will find descriptions of each consumable, how they are used, and where to find them in-game.

All of these consumables provide some sort of stat-based buff, making your character more resilient and powerful, with a duration of 60 minutes. If at any point you are killed and have to restart an area, you will keep the buff. In addition, if you log out with some time remaining, the buff will pause its timer and wait to count down again until you load the save back up. This makes these items well worth their pricey cost of 500 scrap, which is standard across all of the consumables of this category, as they essentially offer their effects over the duration of nice chunk of gameplay time, paying for themselves in the ability to clear content faster and easier.

One downside with these items to balance their benefits, is they can be somewhat difficult to obtain, some definitely more than others. Trying to maintain a handy supply of all of the Persistent Buff consumables at once means you will have to invest a good amount of scrap to stockpile large numbers of them to last whenever you run into the various different vendors that each have their own separate inventory. The good news here is it's very easy to get a read on your supply since each one equates to an hour of buff, which can rise to an hour and 12 minutes if you have the Potency trait maxed out.

Other Consumables Guides

Mudtooth's Stew

Mudtooth's Stew

Mudtooth's Stew

+25 Stamina for 60 minutes. Persists through death.

Mudtooth's Stew is one of the two buff consumables available in Earth from the vendor they are named after. The blue Stew potion grants a bonus to your Stamina pool for the duration of the effect, allowing you to run longer and dodge more between rests. Helps for running through content faster when you want to XP farm.

How to Find Mudtooth's Stew

Mudtooth's Stew is sold by the special vendor Mudtooth who shows up on Earth, occupying a crashed helicopter in a courtyard. He is fairly easy to find in story mode, but seems to rarely show up in adventure mode. He will sell both the Stew and Tonic for 500 scrap each.

Mudtooth's Tonic

Mudtooth's Tonic

+25 Health for 60 minutes. Persists through death.

The companion to the Stew, Mudtooth's Tonic provides a larger health pool which is just always flat out usefuly in Remnant, since it'll help keep you alive longer and worry less about damage you take.

How to Find Mudtooth's Tonic

Like the Stew, you can find this item sold by Mudtooth on Earth. He is located in an outdoor area in a crashed helicopter by where you normally find a closed gate that has to be opened from one side. If you have the Wailing Tree spawned in this area, it is likely you will have to re-roll to find Mudtooth since they seem to share spawns. You can purchase Mudtoot's Tonic for 500 scrap.

Houndmaster's Jerky

Houndmaster's Jerky

Houndmaster's Jerky

+15% Crit Damage for 60 minutes. Persists through death.

One of the hardest to acquire buffs, at least for myself, considering the vendor's preference to want to rarely ever spawn, the Houndmaster's Jerky is definitely one of the best, being one of the two that have a direct effect on damage. I would always consider this worth having in all situations since it's never a bad thing to kill enemies faster.

How to Find Houndmaster's Jerky

Houndmaster's Jerky is sold by a special vendor in Rhom named the Houndmaster for the price of 500 scrap a piece. He is found within an indoor area named Stalker's Den, and you may want to make sure you visit him in solo mode or alert your teammates you need to purchase from him, since there are items gained by fighting and killing him which they may be after. Definitely try to stock up as much as you can since it may be a while till you see him again. The Houndmaster is technically part of the Maul dungeon boss spawn rotation in Rhom.

Divine Nectar

Divine Nectar

Divine Nectar

+10% Armor Effectiveness for 60 minutes. Persists through death.

Definitely a highly recommended buff to keep on hand at all times, Divine Nectar gives a nice bonus to your overall damage reduction granted by your armor. Along with the Bark Skin trait, Divine Nectar can allow light armors like the Cultist gear to perform in line with the heavier sets like Void. Just keep a close eye on refreshing the timer, as this one is easy to miss when it expires until you suddenly start taking harder hits when you least expect it.

How to Find Divine Nectar

Divine Nectar is one of the easier buff potions to find, being sold by the vendor version of the Iskal Queen who likes to routinely, almost without fail, consistently show up in Corsus in story mode. She will spawn more frequently in the adventure mode of Corsus if you haven't yet reached that area in the story, but once you do, she seems to show up much more often as the boss version, which is unique to adventure mode and does not sell the Divine Nectar.

You can buy them from the Iskal Queen for 500 scrap.

Beetle Extract

Beetle Extract

Beetle Extract

+20 Stamina Regen for 60 minutes. Persists through death.

Beetle Extract is among the more rare buff potions to come across, but thankfully isn't too amazing unless you really need the stamina regen. Definitely helps to clear content faster and for those who want less downtime between their sprints and dodges. I am fairly certain, though not 100%, that you need to Swamps of Corsus DLC to use this item due to how it's vendor spawns.

How to Find Beetle Extract

Beetle Extract is sold by the Graveyard Elf vendor who spawns exclusively in Corsus adventure mode. You can purchase them for the standard price of 500 scrap each, and you may want to stock up on a few extra since her spawn is more on the uncommon side, with a potential for her to disappear depending on the actions you and your teammates take.

Golden Plum

Golden Plum

Golden Plum

+0.2 HP Regenerated per second for 60 minutes. Persists through death.

I find myself particularly fond of the Golden Plum consumable, as it's benefit of passive health regeneration is a boon rarely found elsewhere, being quite difficult to stack in high numbers. Every other means of passive HP regen also comes from equipped items which means that takes away from other potential uses for those slots.

While it won't make you an invincible god by any means, having the passive HP regen helps preserve your Dragon Hearts while clearing content and giving you a means to power past checkpoints without having to use Bloodwort or face an eventual death by a "thousand cuts", since even small amounts of damage will lead to your death since your character poses no health regen without items that expressly grant it. This also helps facilitate the use of items like the Heart of Darkness which causes you to take enhanced damage after using Dragon Hearts in exchange for a damage bonus.

You can combine the Golden Plum with the Blood Font ring for more base hp regenerated every second, then turn up the healing amount by maxing out the Triage trait for +100% healing effectiveness and optionally equipping the Mender's Charm amulet which gives a further increase to healing.

How to Find Golden Plum

Golden Plum is sold by the Stuck Merchant who is found in the central outdoor areas of Yaesha, commonly found in both story and adventure mode. As with the other hour-long buffs, the price is 500 scrap each. Make sure to stockpile Golden Plums since if you decide to fight the Root Horror via opening the Guardian Shrine, the Stuck Merchant will be gone afterwards.

Ice Fruit

Ice Fruit

Ice Fruit

+5% Crit Chance for 60 minutes. Persists through death.

Ice Fruit is a new item in Remnant, added with the Subject 2923 DLC, providing a substantial bonus to your critical hit chance. One of the two buffs that affect damage dealing, the Icefruit is an excellent companion to the Houndmaster's Jerky.

How to Find Ice Fruit

The Icefruit is sold by the vendor Sebum, found in Reisum for 500 scrap each. You can locate this vendor in one of the side areas, either in story or adventure mode. You will find the entrance is noticeable as being one of the small rowboat entrances. On the other side, you will find a ship parked next to some ice platforms. Inside the ship on the top level, you will find Sebum in a small room.
