Ascension Zombie Map
Ascension is a relatively large map with a variety of indoor areas and outdoor areas. It's very similar to the Black Ops 1 version, except that the wall weapons and most of the mystery box weapons are different in Black Ops 3. You spawn in a room with one door at the bottom and one door on the second floor. There is a centrifuge in the spawn room that will occasionally activate and spin for a few seconds. It can damage you if you don't crouch to avoid it or keep your distance when it spins. Zombies can die from the centrifuge machine if they are close to it.
The strategy in this article will explain how to run a good zombie train on Ascension to make it to the high rounds. But first, make sure you turn on the power, which is on the roof. Your first priorities should be to get the juggernog perk and other perks. Also, activate all the lunar landers on Ascension. Turning on the lunar landars will allow you to press a button on top of the roof which causes the rocket to shoot off into space. It opens up the area to the pack-a-punch upgrade machine.
Ascension High Round Strategy
Note that it's possible to lose your perks on Ascension. Instead of hellhound enemies, monkeys from space will arrive and try to steal your perks. They will try and damage the perk machines. They are slower than the hellhound dogs, but they are a major threat because they will steal all your perks if you don't protect the perks! I'd recommend not opening the door on the stairs above juggernog, as the monkeys won't attack from behind. That way you can protect juggernog and quick revive at the same time by standing in the spawn area. If you don't let the monkeys touch any perk machines, you'll receive a free perk power-up (making it possible to get all perks on Ascension this way).
Ascension Lunar Lander Zombie Train Strategy
An excellent strategy for making it to a high round on Ascension is running around in circles on the lunar lander pad. The one I am referring to is the lunar lander pad where the "Widows Wine" perk machine is. Go upstairs from the spawn room and take a right. It's upstairs where the truck is outside.
The reason why running around in circles at the lunar lander pad is an excellent strategy is because it's a large area. Additionally, it's relatively easy to create a zombie train behind you. Most of the zombies will be running up the stairs, but a few will come from the barricade behind the Widows Wine perk machine.
Whenever a round starts, begin running around in circles at the pad. Don't shoot the zombies until you have a large group behind you (which is nicknamed a "zombie train"). Only so many zombies can spawn at once. Whenever all (or most) of the zombies are behind you, shoot them down to make a massive amount of points.
Ascension Zombie Train Strategy
Using the Thundergun
In order for the zombie train strategy to work optimally, you'll need the thundergun. The thundergun can take out an entire group of zombies with only one or two shots. Your goal should be to try and get the thundergun weapon out of the mystery box on Ascension. Only one player in the game can have the weapon.
Since the thundergun does not hold a ton of ammunition, only fire the weapon when there's a zombie train group behind you. Or if you're in a situation where you're trapped or low on ammo. Make sure to pack-a-punch the weapon so it carries more ammo.
"Fireworks" Weapon Enhancement
In the higher rounds, zombies become so powerful that even headshots do not kill them right away. Pack-a-punch a weapon until you get the "fireworks" upgrade. This enhancement is amazing for wiping out large groups of zombies! At random, your upgraded weapon will fire a powerful burst of fireworks that destroys them instantly. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using it. It saves a ton of ammo in assault rifles because you don't have to fire entire magazine clips on zombies.
Use a weapon like the KN-44 because you can continuously buy ammo for it off the wall. The KN-44 weapon is outside before you reach the area beneath the rocket where pack-a-punch is.
Running a zombie train at the lunar pad is one of the best strategies to make it to a high round on Black Ops 3 Chronicles: Ascension. Just make sure you don't run out of ammo. Use max ammo gobblegums and keep buying ammo for the KN-44 (or other wall weapon) in between rounds.

You might want to get mule kick so you can purchase a third weapon. Just make sure you don't have the thundergun as a third weapon slot or you'll lose it when you don't have the mule kick perk. Good luck!

I agree with the above strategies but I often like to replace fireworks with dead wire as dead wire has the shortest cool down time of all the ammo types and because of this it tends to activate more often. other than that this is a great strat that me and my friends use when going for highrounds.

Just a few additional comments.
1. Always keep at least 12 rounds available in the upgraded thunder gun for the monkey rounds. After round 50, nothing else kills them.
2. As far as weapons, David is 100% right, KN-44 with fire works and upgraded thunder gun. Also, make sure you get the black hole.
3. For perks, just get jug and quick revive. Do not get widows wine because it screws up your timing when trying to train up zombies.
4. Gobblegums I use are power vacuum, round Robbin, max ammo, mind blown, and reign drops. These are the best to have when you get up to round 100 or so. Anything else is useless. I usually stock up on these gobblegums, but I don't actually start using them until around round 90.
5. Agree with David, do not open door above jug.
6. After round 50 or so, zombies are basically invincible, so only weapons with infinite damage will work. So use the following: upgraded thunder gun, KN 44 with fire works, black hole, nuke, insta kill, fire trap.
