The Modern Warfare trilogy is arguably one of the most popular and successful Call of Duty series. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) is a reboot that was developed by Infinity Ward. It has been over a decade since Call of Duty 4 was introduced on seventh generation consoles. The multiplayer has always been a staple in the series, but the reception of some titles in the franchise have been negative, particularly the games that featured futuristic elements.

Just like the original trilogy, you gain experience points (XP) and rank up in Modern Warfare's multiplayer, including spec ops and survival mode. Unfortunately, you won't earn experience points by completing the relatively short campaign. The story will take the average person 5-7 hours to finish.

Revamped Ranking System

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has a total of 55 levels to go through. The biggest difference in the new game is that there is no Prestige Mode like previous titles. After going through the first 55 ranks, you'll start working in the Officer Ranks. Each season will have 100 Officer Ranks that will reset at the end of the season. You'll have the opportunity to unlock special camouflages and other rewards by completing Officer Challenges during each season.

This article will explain the fastest ways to level up in Modern Warfare. It will also include what to avoid, as some game modes don't offer a lot of experience points for the amount of time and effort you put into them.

Daily Challenges

Each day there will be new daily challenges that can be completed for experience points. Focus on completing the daily challenges every time you log onto Modern Warfare. If you don't complete them, then you'll miss out because they reset each day.

  • Get 15 kills using ADS.
  • Stun 15 enemies with Flash Grenades.
  • Get 10 headshots with Pistols.

Objective Based Modes

In general, the objective based modes are some of the best ways to earn experience points for the average player. In Domination, you acquire a lot of experience points for capturing flags. Additionally, it's often easier to find enemy players because people are either attacking or defending objectives. Players tend to camp or hide in Free-For-All or Team Deathmatch, minimizing the potential experience points you earn to rank up. Your objective in Domination should not be to simply eliminate players, but to attack as many objectives as possible. Domination has a total of three control points or flags.

Cyber Attack

Modern Warfare has a new game mode called Cyber Attack. While it's not a traditional or conventional game mode, it can be one of the greatest ways to level up in Modern Warfare for several reasons. You get about the same XP for each kill like Search and Destroy, but you can get a lot more kills because players can be revived. Additionally, you get points for planting and defusing bombs in Cyber Attack. The round does not end when defusing a bomb, so you can potentially do it again for more XP. Lastly, it's possible to revive teammates for XP.

Ground War

The Ground War in Modern Warfare is a monumental game mode that features up to a total of 64 players! To accommodate the larger player count, Ground War has larger maps and vehicles that players can utilize to traverse faster. Players compete to control different points across the map. People who enjoyed Battlefield may like Ground War because it's a larger scale.

Ground War is great for leveling up in Modern Warfare because it's a fast-paced game mode with a lot of players to battle. It will be easier to find enemy players, albeit, the game can be quite chaotic. You can obtain a lot of XP by going after the objectives. Ideally, you'll want to play with some friends because of spawning. It's generally easier to take over points on the map when you communicate with a couple friends. Modern Warfare features crossplay, meaning you can communicate with friends that play from a different console.

Worst Game Modes to Level Up Fast

  • Spec ops
  • Survival mode
  • Team Deathmatch
  • Free-For-All
  • Search and Destroy

Maximizing XP in "Modern Warfare"

Unless there is a particularly map you really dislike, avoid quitting a match because you forfeit the match bonus points. Also, strive to win because you gain more XP at the end of the match. Increase your chances of winning by going after the objectives. Staying in the same spot the entire game might earn you kills, but it probably won't help you win on a game mode like Domination or Cyber Attack.

While you should utilize weapons that you're good with, make sure to occasionally switch to other weapons to maximize XP. Unlock the camouflage for as many weapons as possible.

Lastly, be sure to shoot down enemy killstreaks. Equip a rocket as as secondary weapon on at least one or two of your custom classes. Not only will you earn XP, but you'll aid your team and increase the probability of winning the match. Some killstreaks that the enemy use can result in devastating losses if you don't deal with them accordingly.
