"CryptoFights" Turn Based Arena Mayhem (Mobile & PC)

"The universe is transformation: life is opinion."
Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus (121 AD – 180 AD)

CryptoFights is a free-to-play 1v1 arena game on the Enjin platform releasing their closed beta Q1 2019. You start off by customizing a gladiator of your choice for the arena from one of the available races. After your character is built you're given a rough tutorial and tour of the ludus. It's not long before you'll find yourself on the sand with blade in hand, likely staring down one very angry dwarf. The combat in CryptoFights is like a turn based Street Fighter with weapons and armor that you change to outwit your opponent. Each move is then calculated by dice roll. The stakes are high in front of an insatiable crowd but the fame and fortune that can be won are unfathomable.

CryptoFights was the third game to join Enjin’s Early Adopter Program and is a founding member of the Multiverse. After the presale begins there will be a limited closed beta before the initial launch. The closed beta will be pretty bare bones. Players will be able to test out combat completely, but only with practice/test weapons. The initial closed beta test will focus on matchmaking and stress testing. After the Closed Beta and stress testing is complete wagering, marketplace, additional equipment and features will all be added.

Cryptofights Gameplay and Guide

"It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience."
Julius Caesar (100 BC – 44 BC)

The road to arena champion is a long and hard one. Properly building your character is key. Each character that you create is fully customizable and they can even be exchanged with other players on the market once they're strong enough. Here's a couple key tips to make sure you're the strongest arm in the ludus.

  • Winning matches rewards XP and gold.

Gold can be used to buy new weapons and armor from the marketplace to give your fighter the edge it needs. XP levels your fighter. As your fighter levels up you will enter new arenas to battle, getting you higher level rewards.

  • Leveling up will reward ability points

At max level (20) your character will have a total of 20 ability points. You'll receive 10 when you create your character and then another every even level. IE, 1 Ability Point at level 2, 4, 6, etc. Make sure you carefully choose where to place each ability point. You may be able to make several characters but you can only choose where to put each ability point once. Your attributes will factor heavily in each battle and a misplaced point could mean death! Fill your ludus with several different types of gladiators so you're prepared for any type of fight.

"The gods conceal from men the happiness of death, that they may endure life."
Marcus Annaeus Lucanus (39 AD – 65 AD)

Combat begins with an initiative roll to determines who goes first in combat. Your build, equipment, and stats take affect immediately with any + initiative equipment adding to your diceroll. Your health, evasion %, damage, etc will all also be calculated based on your stats and added or subtracted from your dice rolls. This adds a element of luck and randomness to the battle that you'll need to compensate for with skill. Strong equipment alone won't win every match.

The game is Free-to-play and there are several different ways to progress and make your fighters stronger. Players have the option to place bets on their matches via the wagering system or play for free. Every time you win a battle you'll also earn a mini-game play. Winning gold via wagering or mini-games will allow you to buy items normally without spending cryptocurrency. It's a great way to gear up cheaply and easily!
