If you are total newbie when it comes to Facebook Messenger’s most addictive mobile game to date, then you’ve come to the right place! EverWing has become so popular that almost everyone is playing it. Now that you have joined the bandwagon, there is no longer any hope of escape for you!

With this beginner’s guide, you will learn all the basic information for starting out in EverWing. Once you gain momentum in this game, nothing will be able to stop you! Read on and jump-start your mystical adventure in the world of EverWing.

The Guardians

At the very start of your adventure in EverWing, the only Guardian that is available for use is Alice. She is the Guardian of Courage and the default character of the game. She has a basic attack mode and has no special abilities. No wonder she is the default character!

As you progress through the game and collect coins and gems, you will be able to upgrade your Guardian characters and purchase more of them. The good thing about unlocking all the other EverWing Guardians is that each and every one of them has a special quirk or ability.

As a beginner, your job is to kick-start your adventure and accustom yourself with the game by using Alice to eliminate evil monsters and bosses in the Normal Run Mode.

Commonly Asked Questions

Q: How can I unlock the other Guardians?

A: You can unlock them by purchasing them with coins or winning them as prizes from the Challenge Mission and Boss Raid Mode reward chests.

Q: Who's the best fairy for farming coins and gems?

A: It's Lily because she can double the coins and gems you collect.

Q: Who's the best fairy for playing the Boss Raid Mode?

A: Survivability-wise, it's Lenore because she springs back to life after dying once. Damage-wise, it's a tie between Jade and Arcana because they both have skills that focus on dealing more damage per second.

Best Tip for Beginners: Be sure to unlock Guardian Lily as soon as possible. Her ability is to double the coins and gems you collect. Due to the nature of her ability, she is the best guardian that you can play early in the game. More coins mean more spending power, and more spending power means more upgrades, sidekick dragons, and guardians for you to obtain.

The Sidekick Dragons

In EverWing, the Guardian character you control can be accompanied by two sidekick dragons. Sidekick dragons are very useful companions. Not only do they increase your firepower, they also support you with their special powers and abilities. There’s a lot of sidekick dragons to choose from. They can be obtained via two methods: (1) purchasing dragon eggs from the dragon roster and hatching them and (2) obtaining them from the reward chests in the Challenge Mission and Boss Raid Mode.

Commonly Asked Questions

Q: What effect does the elemental affinity have?

A: The elemental affinity of sidekick dragons can provide +50% damage against Bosses with the opposite elemental affinity.

Q: What effect do the zodiac signs have?

A: The zodiac signs only take effect when you zodiac-evolve sidekick dragons. This means that if you evolve two dragons with the same zodiac sign, they receive a percentage bonus damage to their attacks. A zodiac-evolved second tier dragon can gain a +25% attack damage bonus while a zodiac-evolved third tier dragon can gain a +35% attack damage bonus.

Best Tip for Beginners: As soon as you have the means to purchase sidekick dragon eggs, get only the Gold Dragon Eggs. They are the most worthwhile eggs to choose from the selection. They give the most bang out of your bucks. Also, obtaining sidekick dragons that have the ability to double gems should take priority because they can fast-track your coin farming endeavor, which can lead to you having more spending power for upgrades, sidekick dragons, and other guardians.

The Normal Run Mode

This is the basic game mode of EverWing. In this mode, you simply shoot at enemies while making sure that you dodge each and every one of them in the process. The normal monsters don’t usually attack—they just move in a linear motion! However, Bosses are different! Bosses have set attack patterns that you need to figure out else you die. In the end, your goal is to annihilate everything in your path and score huge amounts of points, coins, and gems.

Every time you defeat a monster in the Normal Run Mode, there is a chance that they will drop an item or a power-up. It could either be a coin, a gem, a clover, a mushroom, a trophy, a magnet, or a rush flower. It is always beneficial to collect them so try your hardest to get them.

Commonly Asked Questions

Q: How can I stop those bird-like meteors?

A: You can't stop them. You can only dodge them. However, if you're under the effect of a rush flower or an ability that renders you invincible, then you can obliterate those meteors without any effort.

Q: How many clovers can I collect?

A: You can collect as many clovers as you want, but your level will only increase accordingly until 70. Each clover adds 5 attack damage to your attacks. Once your level reaches 70, the succeeding clovers you collect will no longer have any effect.

Best Tip for Beginners: Prioritize picking up magnets! The magnets that monsters drop have the power to attract all other items and power-ups to you. Yes, that includes coins and gems! The more items and power-ups you collect, the more powerful you become and the more progress you make.

The Boss Raid Mode

Besides the Normal Run Mode, there is the Boss Raid Mode where your sole goal is to defeat Bosses. Unlike the Normal Run Mode, the Bosses in the Boss Raid Mode are sturdier and more powerful. There’s a time limit for each play, but the good thing is—you can try and try until you succeed without the HP of the Boss resetting. However, there’s a time period of a few days for you to defeat the Boss. Once you defeat a Boss in the Boss Raid Mode, chests containing amazing prizes awaits!

Commonly Asked Questions

Q: I've run out of Energy to play the Boss Raid Mode, how do I get more?

A: You can get more Energy by purchasing them with trophies or picking them as item drops from Bosses in the the Normal Run Mode. Alternatively, you could just wait it out until an Energy replenishes by itself.

Q: Why are the Bosses in the Boss Raid Mode so tough to beat?

A: That's because the Boss Raid Mode is not for newbies. It's meant for players who have a lot of experience and powerful characters. It's not impossible for a newbie to beat it though. All you have to do is join a group chat and play cooperatively with friends.

Best Tip for Beginners: Beginners don’t usually play the Boss Raid Mode. It’s not that they don’t want to. It's just that they can’t easily handle it yet. I suggest that you upgrade any of your Guardians to Level 50 first before challenging the Bosses of the Boss Raid Mode. Alternatively, you could play cooperatively with other players in order to easily take down the Bosses in the Boss Raid Mode.

The Quests

Quests are time-based events that you can take in order to gain some experience and coins. At first, the only available quest for you is the Whispering Forest, which has a duration of 24 Hours and a reward multiplier of 10. You can unlock more quests as you level up. Each quest requires one Guardian from your roster. This means that when you send a Guardian to do a quest, that Guardian becomes unplayable for the duration of the quest. Moreover, the same rule applies to sidekick dragons.

Commonly Asked Questions

Q: Do fairy abilities affect quests?
A: Yes, but not all of them. Sophia's ability automatically cuts any quest duration by half. Lily still gains double coins during quests. Fiona also still doubles the experience garnered by her sidekick dragons.

Q: Do sidekick dragon abilities affect quests?

A: No. However, there's one special dragon evolutionary line that can affect quests. It's the dragon Estel and its evolutionary line. This line has the ability to cut any quest duration by 25%.

Q: What affects quest rewards?

A: The only things that can affect quest rewards are the Levels of the fairies and sidekick dragons. The higher the level of your characters, the greater the rewards.

Best Tip for Beginners: Once you have Guardian Lily, you won’t need to play as Guardian Alice, Guardian Fiona, or Guardian Sophia in the Normal Run Mode anymore. I suggest that you just send them to quests in order to put them to good use. Guardian Sophia is the questing queen so always put her on the 24-Hour Quest to cut the duration by half. Also, be sure to always send everyone away on quests with two sidekick dragons so that they can earn more coins and experience as well.

@Daisy Try reinstalling the game (facebook and messenger apps). If worst comes to worst, you can try reformatting your phone. It's a hassle though.

How do I earn gems? I want to buy the Jade bundle, but don’t know how to work the shop function. Also, I have earned the max 999,999 coins allowed. How might I best spend them?

FYI, you can actually destroy those bird-like meteors if your dragons have a power shot ability. One power shot can destroy them all and other nearby enemies including meteors. :)
