Hey there budding adventurer! I see you’ve decided to become a merchant. Merchants love and worship money. They are people who value the power of money and use it for the good of everyone. Their goal is to control a big chunk of the zeny flow in the world of Midgard and make sure that the economy remains stable.

Now that you’re on your way to becoming a merchant, there’s only one task left for you to do: pass the Merchant Job Change Quest! Don’t fret about it because this guide will help you successfully pass the trial and finally become the merchant of your dreams.

The Merchant Job Change Quest

Step 1: Register for the Merchant Job Change Quest

Before you take the quest, keep in mind that your Job Level as a Novice should be 10.

To begin, simply talk to Chief Mahnsoo who is the Chief of the Merchant Guild and is inside the Merchant Guild in Alberta (coordinates: alberta_in 53,43). The Merchant Guild is located at the farthest southwest corner of Alberta.

Chief Mahnsoo will require you to pay a one-time filing fee of 1000z or a split filing fee of 500z before and after the test. After payment, Chief Manhsoo will give you a serial number and direct you to the warehouse.

Note: Memorize the serial number That Chief Mahnsoo Will gives TO you, or better yet, jot it down on a notepad.

Step 2: Proceed to the Warehouse

After talking to Chief Mahnsoo, proceed to the room to the left. That room is the warehouse, and in that room, you will find a Merchant Guildsman. Talk to him and give him the serial number you got from Chief Mahnsoo.

Here are the possible serial numbers and designations:

  • Serial Number 2485741 or 2328137 – Parcel for the Kafra Employee in Prontera (coordinates: prontera 248,42)
  • Serial Number 2989396 or 2191737 – Parcel for the Guild Staff in the Mage Guild in Geffen (coordinates: geffen_in 155,122)
  • Serial Number 3012685 or 3487372 – Parcel for the Dyer’s Student in a Building in Morroc (coordinates: morocc_in 140, 102)
  • Serial Number 3318702 or 3543625 – Parcel for the Kafra Employee in Byalan Island (coordinates: izlu2dun 106,58)

Note: If for some reason you lose the Delivery Box ALONG the way, you can just talk with THE Merchant Guildsman again. By doing this, you will be forced to redo the Merchant Job Change Quest.

Step 3: Deliver the Parcel

As soon as you receive the parcel in the form of a Delivery Box, deliver it to the intended recipient. After successful delivery, you will receive a receipt in the form of a Voucher.

Step 4: Return the Voucher to the Merchant Guildsman

Give the Voucher to the Merchant Guildsman. After doing so, he will put a good word for you with Chief Mahnsoo.

Step 5: Talk to Chief Mahnsoo and become a Merchant

Since you’ve successfully delivered the parcel, Chief Mahnsoo will praise you for a job well done and officially accept you as a member of the Merchant Guild.

Congratulations, you are now a Merchant!

Questions & Answers

  • How do I become the Great Merchant?

I don't think there's a Great Merchant. However, there's a High Merchant, which is a transcendent job class. You can become one by leveling your blacksmith to base level 99 and job level 50, and undertaking the transcendent class change in Juno.
