For many servers in Ragnarok Online, there is one money-making quest that is quite easy to do and finish. It is the Old Blue Box Quest! And the good thing about it is that it’s repeatable! You can undertake this quest as many times as you want. Hence, this guide was made!

In exchange for some easy-to-collect items, you can get Old Blue Boxes, which in turn could potentially earn you some extra zeny. This is one of the most lucrative quests in Ragnarok Online, so there’s no harm doing it if it exists in your server.

Note that not all Ragnarok Online servers have this quest. If you’re playing iRO renewal or classic servers, then this quest is not available. Otherwise, there’s a decent chance that it still exists in many other servers.

The Old Blue Box Quest

Step 1: Get Your Feet to Comodo and Talk to the “Old Man”

Search for the “Old Man” in Comodo. He can be found standing on the watery floor on the west area of Comodo near close to the exit (coordinates: Comodo 68,195).

Talk to him. He will have a conversation with you until he says that he has no further business with you. The trick is—talk to him repeatedly until he finally asks you to bring him some items. Repetition is the key here so just talk to him until he gives in.

Note: In order for you to get to Comodo, you can either walk there from Morroc or avail a Warp Service going to Comodo from a Kafra Employee.

Step 2: Gather the Required Items

For this quest, the old man will ask you to bring the following items:

  • Brigan x10
  • Crab Shell x10
  • Clam Shell x15
  • Cyfar x50

Take note of the following information when gathering the required quest items:

  • Brigan – Dropped by many monsters and could be found in Old Blue Boxes and Old Violet Boxes. Some of the convenient monsters that drops this item include: Greatest General, Spring Rabbit, Raydric Archer, Raydric, and Injustice. Alternatively, you can try buying this item from other characters that have it.
  • Crab Shell – Commonly dropped by Crabs and could be found in Old Blue Boxes and Old Violet Boxes. It is also sold by the Souvenir Vendor in Comodo (coordinates: 296,125). The easiest way to procure this item is by buying it from the Souvenir Vendor for 90z each.
  • Clam Shell – Commonly dropped by Shellfish and Sea Others, and could be found in Old Blue Boxes and Old Violet Boxes. It is also sold by the Souvenir Vendor in Comodo (coordinates: 296,125). The easiest way to procure this item is by buying it from the Souvenir Vendor for 56z each.
  • Cyfar – Dropped by many monsters and could be found in Old Blue Boxes and Old Violet Boxes. Some of the convenient monsters that drops this item include: Galapago, Wild Rose, Orc lady, Panzer Goblin, Injustice, Kapha, Raggler, and Spring Rabbit. Alternatively, you can try buying this item from other characters that have it.

Step 3: Give the Items You Gathered to the “Old Man”

Once you’ve successfully gathered all the necessary items, give them to the “Old Man” and he will give you an “Old Blue Box” in return.

Reward: Old Blue Box x1

Step 4: Rinse and Repeat

In most servers, this “Old Blue Box Quest” is repeatable. You can do it over and over again until you run out of Brigan, Crab Shell, Clam Shell, and Cyfar. Once more, patience is the virtue you’ll be needing most here as you’ll have to talk to the “Old Man” again and again. Nevertheless, this quest is definitely worth the time and effort because Old Blue Boxes can be quite profitable.

Note: This quest may or may not be available depending on your server. It is not available on iRO renewal and classic servers.
