That’s why they have resorted to thievery and underhanded tactics. They’re good people deep inside, though. Once the going gets tough, they will surely act for the good of the world.

Now that you’re on your way to becoming a Thief, there’s only one task left for you to do—passing the Thief Job Change Quest! Don’t fret about it because this guide will help you successfully pass the trial and finally become the Thief of your dreams.

Step 1: Speak With the Thief Guide

Before you take the quest, keep in mind that your Job Level as a Novice should be 10.

To begin, simply talk to the Thief Guide, who is in the Thief Guild inside the Morroc Pyramid on Morroc Ruins (coordinates: moc_prydb1 39,129). The entrance to the Morroc Pyramid is located at the farthest northwest corner of the Morroc Ruins. Accordingly, Morroc Ruins is located one map northwest of the town of Morroc.

The Thief Guide will ask you a few questions and then direct you to the Irrelevant Man who is waiting outside of the Morroc Pyramid.

Step 2: Talk to the Irrelevant Man and Take the Thief Test

The Irrelevant Man is situated near the center of Morroc Ruins (coordinates: moc_ruins 141,125). He will warp you to the testing area where you’ll learn the art of thievery.

The place the Irrelevant Man will warp you is called Shibu’s Farm. There, you will need to gather certain types of mushrooms, namely the Orange Net Mushroom and the Orange Gooey Mushroom.

The point values of the mushrooms are as follows:

  • 1 Orange Gooey Mushroom = 1 Point
  • 1 Orange Net Mushroom = 3 Points

To pass the exam, you will need to get at least 25 points.

Note: In order to leave Shibu’s Farm, you will have to get yourself killed or use a Butterfly Wing.

Give your mushrooms to Comrade Brad.

Step 3: Return to the Thief Guild and Talk to Comrade Brad

After gathering all the mushrooms required, you will have to give them to Comrade Brad. He’s located in the same room as the Thief Guide (coordinates: moc_prydb1 42,133).

Once you give him the mushrooms, he will tally your points. If you meet the required number of points, he will welcome you to the Thief Guild, accept you as the newest member, and give you a small reward.

Congratulations, you are now a Thief!
