Understanding the Limits

Cap and exhaustion are terms used in Order and Chaos to describe daily dungeon and PVP limits. Each day players are allotted 100 dungeon points and 1500 honor points.

Even though some players use these terms interchangeably, they are two distinct limits. After the limit is reached, players must use tabs to continue to run legendary dungeons and PVP arenas. .

States of exhaustion, and the tabs used to reset them, are as follows:

  • Dungeon - exhaustion, red tab, energy tablet
  • PVP arena/battlefield - cap, blue tab, living tablet, vita tab

Being Exhausted describes a state where you have reached 100 exhaustion points. This is the point when it is time to use a red energy tab to reset exhaustion to zero.

Being capped means that the toon has accumulated 1500 honor points. At this point, the toon may continue to participate in PVP battles, but will not gain points until using a blue living tab or a vita tab. If a toon engages in PVP while capped they still gain rank, used to earn the right to buy spesific PVP gear.

Don't worry, there are many ways to get tablets free, and they are sold in the NIck Shop.

Honor Points and the Arena

As mentioned above, in PVP players are allotted 1500 honor points each day. To see the limit, click the green league icon at the top of the screen .This is also where to find rank, and que for PVP (battlefeild, 2s, 4s).

The PVP meter at the top of the leagues menu reads 0/1500. The first number is the amount of honor points earned that day. The second number represents the total limit. When the meter reads 1500 use a tab. This will change the first number back to zero if a blue tab is used.

Toons gain rank and honor points every time they complete a PVP match.

2v2 - 2s, win is worth 100 honor points, loss is worth 20

4v4, 4s, win is worth 200 honor points, loss is worth 40

There are many different types of PVP tabs, not just to reset the cap, but to help earn points faster..

Yellow excited tablets trade for living tablets at a vendor in Glory Plaza, Greenmont.

Dungeon Exhaustion

Exhausted but not Tired?

This is where people get a little confused. Many people use the term capped to describe dungeon exhaustion.

Most people get the meaning, but sometimes they do not. Being capped describes PVP. Being exhausted describes the legendary dungeon limit.

In dungeons, exhaustion measures the number of bosses defeated. The higher level the dungeon, the more each boss is worth. For example, Cosmo from The Prison gives less exhaustion than Core of MZL.

In PVP you can keep running arena and BF even though you gain no points. However, dungeons work differently.

Once a toon is exhausted, they are not allow to enter legendary dungeon portals. Normal dungeons do not cost points until higher level dungeons.

Like with PVP, there are tablets you can use to reset exhaustion. These are known as energy tablets. They look just like living tablets, only they are red.

Energy tablets can be won in the lottery, bought on the black market, earned during events, won in some weekly tournaments, exchanged with lucky crosses, gifted in the hourly chest, bought on the Nick Shop, obtained from daily login reward, and won on the wheel of fortune.

Locating Dungeon Exhustion

How to Check Dungeon Exhustion

Dungeon exhaustion is found in the following location.

  1. Click the character portrat in the upper left hand corner.
  2. Select the "team" tab.
  3. Click the "dungeon" tab at the top.
  4. Observe the dungeon limit at the bottom of the screen.

Keep an eye on exhaustion, especially in dungeons with multiple portals.

For example, AGL has a second portal. If exhaustion is reached on the first boss, the the toon is transported outside when entering the portal that leads to the end boss. There are other dungeons with multiple portals.

Be VERY CAREFUL. There is a button that lets you reset exhaustion. Do not accidentally hit this when you are really trying to reset the dungeon tabs are wasted.

About Winning, Buying and Earning Tabs

People are usually disappointed when they discover cap and exhaustion. Tabs were hard to come by when Order and Chaos was released.

Players were so desperate that they began dupping them. Dupping WILL lead to a ban. Gameloft answered ferociously. Duppers were band for as little as two weeks to as much as two years. A very small number of duppers got lifetime bans!

Gameloft realized the need to allow players to have many ways to earn living and energy tablets. Some players still buy tabs with runes, but many choose to spend their runes on other things.

Remember, OAC is free to play. It is easy to progress in the game without spending a dime. The Nick Shop is there for players who do not spending money to enhance game play.

There are two things you can spend on this game:

  • Time
  • Money

Order and Chaos is not just a kids game. A lot of working adults play, as well. It is up to each player to decide between time and money.

Having a cap, and the use of tabs, keeps things fair for ALL players. I have nothing against younger people. However, those who grew up with Atari, Kings Quest, and Dungeons and Dragons, don't want to give up gaming just because of less time to devoted to gaming.

Personally, I believe the use of caps and the nick shop is very practical. You can play the game, spend lots of time and be epic. You can also come home from work, or log on after kids are in bed, and spend a few bucks to reach epic status.

One is not better than the other. Skill must be learned both ways. I get tired of seeing people diss those who spend money on the game. All it is, is a different kind of player.

Gameloft created the land of Haradon for players on both sides of the time, money equation.

With that being said, just know that I I do not buy tablets. I get so many for free that it is not even a worry. I spend runes on other things.

I will admit it. I love buying the gift boxes in the packages tab of the Nick's Shop. I sometimes buy level 3 gems, and I spend runes trying to improve my chances for level 4 and 5 gems.

Do not worry too much about the limits. Just play that lottery and wheel of fortune every day. Even if you don't have time to play the game, just log on for long enough to win some rewards.

New toons may be unable to tab because they simply have not had enough time to win lots of tabs.

Some good activities for those without tabs are: mount hunting, gem farming, gold farming, make an alt, ask someone in global to wear a duck head, collect vanity gear, battle in PVP zones, and much more.

You mentioned AGL. Because I run it 6-7 times almost every day for 4 weeks now trying to get planes' ripper for shirt, which still haven't drop once ;-( i noticed that you get 40 pts of exhustion for full run (first boss 18pts, and last one rest of it) but still you can do 3 full runs which its kind of awesome less tablets to spend ;-)

Honestly, a lot of it is just snobbery. People argue that S2 is stronger because of the set bonus, but S2.5 outclasses it in more or less every other stat.

I'm now full 6/6 S3, and I can say that 2/6 S2 and 4/6 S2.5 is definitely the better choice.

I here people debate this all the time. I honestly think that it depends on class. I'm working on the pvp series, I'll add up all the stats and set bonuses. Maybe then it will make more sense.

Nice post! Its true that ever since the update GL has been giving away more tablets! I was able to get my S2.5 gear and 2 S2 within a week and i have a lot of energy tablets to spare since i have not been in dungeons lately.

Sorry if this question is off topic but why is it that people in PVP says S2.5 is not a good choice? is 4/6 S2 with 2/6 S2 (or 2/6 other gear-besides S3) better than 2/6 S2 with 4/6 S2.5?
