How Does Summoning Work in Epic Seven?
Epic Seven is a tactical role-playing gacha game that allows the player to summon various heroes and artifacts that they can use and enhance to maximize their teams for adventuring and battling other players. Summoning is a lottery-like system that gives players a high chance of getting low rarity heroes and artifacts and a low chance of getting high rarity ones. Summons require various types of in-game currencies, and multiple summons are often necessary to get desired collectibles.
Types of Summons in the Game
Epic Seven has 6 types of summons:
- Covenant Summon
- Mystic Summon
- Moonlight Summon
- Friendship Summon
- Drop Rate Up Summon
- Pet Summon
1. Covenant Summon
Covenant Summon is the standard summon in Epic Seven, and each summon requires 5 Covenant Bookmarks. These are purchasable in the shop for Skystone, the main in-game currency. As you can see below, you can get 5 Covenant Bookmarks for 100 Skystone or 50 Covenant Bookmarks plus 400 Stigma for 950 Skystone, a slight discount. You also get 1 free summon per day.
What You Can Get From a Covenant Summon
This summon includes most 3- to 5-star heroes and artifacts, including Moonlight heroes (Light and Dark heroes) at a low drop rate. If you click on the icon shown in the following image while you're in the game, you can see the exact drop rates for each hero and artifact.
As you can see, there is a slightly higher chance to summon a hero than an artifact. 5-star heroes and artifacts have a very low drop rate, 1.4% for a 5-star hero including Moonlight heroes and 1.75% for a 5-star artifact. 4-stars are slightly more common, and 3-star drops are the most common. The drop rates are broken down further below, showing the exact probability of summoning each hero and artifact.
2. Mystic Summon
Mystic Summon allows you to summon from a more limited pool of heroes and artifacts. This summon requires 50 Mystic Medals, which are acquired mainly through guild wars. Guild wars occur every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and Mystic Medals are awarded the following day based upon the guild war performance.
What You Can Get From a Mystic Summon
The summon pool consists of 2 Moonlight heroes and 16 normal heroes and artifacts. Moonlight heroes change every 28 days, and normal heroes and artifacts change every 7 days.
As you can see above, Mystic Summon consists of 18 heroes and artifacts, including 1 5-star Moonlight hero, 1 5-star normal hero, 1 4-star Moonlight hero, 4 4-star normal heroes, 4 3-star heroes, 1 5-star artifact, 3 4-star artifacts, and 3 3-star artifacts. You are also guaranteed to get the current 5-star Moonlight hero after your 200th summon, and this countdown carries over when the Moonlight heroes switch.
You can see what the next summon pool will consist of for Mystic Summon by clicking on the icon shown below. This allows you to make an informed decision about whether you should spend your Mystic Medals now or save up for a better summon pool.
3. Moonlight Summon
Moonlight Summon is a rarely used summon that allows you to summon Moonlight heroes (Light and Dark heroes). This summon requires Galaxy Bookmarks, which are purchasable in the Transmit Stone Shop, shown below. You need 6 Gold Transmit Stones to purchase 5 Galaxy Bookmarks, which can be used for a single Moonlight Summon. Gold Transmit Stones are mainly acquired through Covenant Summons. You receive one for every 20 Covenant Summons.
The other thing you can buy with Gold Transmit Stones is a 4-5 Star Hero Summon Ticket, which has a drop rate of 15% for a 5-star hero and 85% for a 4-star hero. This does not include Moonlight heroes. Most people recommend buying Galaxy Bookmarks instead since Moonlight heroes are so rare. However, the 4-5 Star Hero Summon Ticket can be useful early in the game if you really want a rarer unit, as it does provide the best chance of receiving a 5-star hero.
What You Can Get From a Moonlight Summon
Moonlight Summon gives you the chance to summon 3- to 5-star Moonlight heroes with no chance of summoning artifacts. It has a higher drop rate for 4- and 5-star heroes than other summons.
4. Friendship Summon
Friendship Summon allows you to summon 2-star heroes and 1- to 2-star artifacts using Friendship Bookmarks, which you can purchase in the Friendship Shop for Friendship Points. You receive 10 points for using a friend's unit and 5 points for using a random unit. You also receive points three times a day when your support units are used by other players.
In addition to Friendship Bookmarks, you can also use Friendship Points to purchase Energy and Flags for Arena matches once per day.
What You Can Get From a Friendship Summon
As you can see, Friendship Summon allows you to get cheap, low rarity heroes and artifacts. These are mostly used as fodder to promote your heroes and enhance your artifacts.
5. Drop Rate Up Summon
A Drop Rate Up Summon is a Covenant Summon with only 1 available 5-star hero in the summon pool and with an increased drop rate for 1 5-star artifact. Note that although the chance to summon the promotional 5-star hero is much higher than normal, your chance to receive a 5-star hero is actually lower than in a normal Covenant Summon. There is also no possibility of summoning a Moonlight Hero. You are guaranteed to summon the promotional 5-star hero in 120 summons, and using the Drop Rate Up Summon still counts towards earning Gold Transmit Stones.
Sometimes there will also be Limited Time Summons. These are like Drop Rate Up Summons except the promotional hero will not be added to the Covenant Summon pool after the Drop Rate Up Summon is over.
In a Drop Rate Up Summon, the promotional 5-star hero has a 1% drop rate and the promotional 5-star artifact has a 1.05% drop rate.
6. Pet Summon
The Pet House is unlocked after you reach Rank 45. Here you can adopt pets using the Pet Summon, which requires Pet Adoption Tickets. These can be purchased in the Pet Shop for Gold, Skystone, and Homemade Snacks. You get one free Pet Adoption per day. Adopted pets start at 1 star and can reach 4 stars. Each pet has a skill with a rank between D and S which provides benefits either in the lobby or when battling. Pets with more stars can have multiple skills.
What You Can Get From a Pet Summon
The Pet Summon drop rates are shown below. Pets with S rank skills have the lowest drop rates, and pets with D rank skills have the highest drop rate. There is also a tiny chance to receive a pet with a special form.
