Futurama Returns With Mobile Game
Popular science-fiction comedy adult cartoon Futurama is returning to the public. This time not in the form of a television series or movie but as a mobile game. The game is titled Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow and is being developed by TinyCo and Fox Interactive. To ensure the game has that distinctive look and comedic feel Futurama fans have come to know and love, series' Executive Producers Matt Groening and David X. Cohen have contributed content to the project as well as the show's original animators, Rough Draft Studios.
Rejoin Fry, Leela, Bender and the rest of the Planet Express gang on some all new adventures with this novel interactive experience. Developer Jam City Company TinyCo worked with Fox Interactive on a previous mobile game, Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff. The team is looking to recapture the success of that title with the upcoming Futurama game. The project is being produced by a combination of Fox Interactive, Twentieth Century Fox’s interactive division, and Matt Groening’s Curiosity Company.
"Futurama is back, bigger and better than ever! Or possibly smaller and equally good. But either way, it’s back!” said David X. Cohen, co-developer with Matt Groening and Executive Producer of Futurama. "We’ve got completely new stories from the original writers, cast, and animators. This is the real Futurama deal."
Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow will be released for mobile gamers to enjoy soon however, a release date has not been announced. When launched, the game will be available via the App Store, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore. You can pre-register for the game on Google Play here.
