Bloody Guardian Item Build

When it comes to defense, the Bloody Guardian Item Build is one of the best! This build prioritizes defense above all else. It operates under the school of thought that defense is the best offense!

The defensive power that stems from this build comes from the harmonious combination of HP, Armor, and Magic Resistance. With the three in tow, Balmond realizes a reality where he can survive the longest on the battlefield. It doesn’t matter even if he soaks up all the damage. He can take a lot of damage and also deal some sustainable damage as well.

While Balmond’s durability cannot compare with most other tanks, he can hold as long while dealing more damage. This build makes that even more of a possibility. As Balmond derives sustenance from blood, he can go on a bloody rampage with no fear of death.

1. Cursed Helmet

  • +920 HP
  • +50 Magic Resistance
  • Unique Passive (Burning Soul) – Deals 1.5% of your total HP as magic damage per second to nearby enemies. This effect deals an extra 50% damage to minions.

The Cursed Helmet resonates well with Balmond’s passive skill. It provides better chances of you snagging minion kills, as well as hero kills, with the effect of its unique passive.

2. Warrior Boots

  • +22 Armor
  • +40 Movement Speed (Unique)
  • Unique Passive (Valor) – Raises Physical Defense by 5 points for 3 seconds each time a basic attack is received from the enemies. This effect can stack up to 5 times.

Not only does this item increases HP by a lot, it also maximizes defensive power whenever your HP is under 40%.

Mad Warlord Item Build

Given the fact that Balmond is not just a tank but also fighter, it is very possible for him to sacrifice most of his defensive power in exchange for tremendous offensive power. That’s where the Mad Warlord Item Build comes in!

This build has its focus on damage-increasing items. While it is true that Balmond becomes very vulnerable with this build, he receives overwhelming physical power in exchange. At the end of the end, no one can deny the fact that his skills were made to kill. And the best way to make full use of those offensive skills is to increase his physical power to the max!

Even though this build lacks raw defense, Balmond can still last long with his passive ability to absorb life force with each successful kill. For this build, the trick is to take all opportunities of killing—be it minions, jungle monsters, and enemy heroes—to replenish HP, and ultimately survive until the end, leaving nothing but a bloody mountain of corpses!

  • Unique (Immortal) – Resurrects 2 seconds after dying and gains 15% HP and a shield that can absorb 300-1000 points of damage for 3 seconds. This effect has a cooldown of 180 seconds.

Deterrent Chief Item Build

Rather than an overwhelmingly offensive build or a staggeringly defensive build, the Deterrent Chief Item Build is more of a supportive build. Its core is on supporting allies. With this build, Balmond’s priority is not in killing nor in purely tanking, but in reducing the morale and resistance of the enemies.

To make this build possible, it is important to keep some defensive items in tow while also selecting items that inconvenience the enemies. Hence, the presence of the Demon’s Advent, the Blade of the 7 Seas, and the Blade Armor in this build. The aforementioned items do not just add defensive power, they also possess unique passives that renders the enemies at a disadvantageous state during clashes.

Overall, the Deterrent Chief Item Build not only deters enemies, it also empowers allies! It can be tricky to use this build, but with cooperative allies, this can be a very effective set-up.

  • Unique Passive (Bloodthirst) – Regenerates 20% of the hero’s HP over 5 seconds after every kill or assist. This effect has a cooldown of 10 seconds.

This item works really well with Balmond’s passive skill. It essentially allows him to replenish more HP for every kill or assist he makes.

6. Blade Armor

  • +90 Armor
  • Unique Passive (Counterstrike) – Deals 25% of the physical attack of enemies against them when you receive damage from their basic attacks.
