Undead Scythe Item Build

Impregnable defense is the highlight of this build. Taking into account Ruby’s ‘Let’s Dance!’ passive skill, this build further augments her overwhelming defensive power to last longer on the battlefield. As a matter of fact, this build turns Ruby into a ‘tank’ rather than a ‘fighter.’

There’s no problem with cooldown reduction when it comes to the Undead Scythe Item Build. In fact, among the three item builds collected here, this one provides the most cooldown reduction—capping at 35%! Having said that, Ruby becomes capable of spamming her skills mindlessly—damaging the enemies consistently, stealing some HP, and triggering her defense-boosting passive skill even more!

If you’re into using Ruby as a semi-tank/semi fighter kind of hero, then the Undead Scythe Item Build might be the best option for you!

1. Magic Shoes

  • +70 Armor
  • +5% Critical Chance Reduction

6. Immortality

  • +800 HP
  • +40 Magic Resistance
  • Unique Passive (Immortal) – Resurrects the hero 2 seconds after dying and gains 15% HP and a shield that can absorb 300-1000 points of damage for 3 seconds. This effect has a cooldown of 180 seconds.

Soul Reaper Item Build

The Soul Reaper Item Build sacrifices a bit of defensive power in exchange for offensive power. But mind you, this is not disadvantageous for Ruby at all! Since Ruby’s specialty lies in life-stealing, the slight decrease in defense for this build is compensated by the her boost in Lifesteal effect.

The Beast Killer may not be a mainstay item for Ruby, but since this build has its focus on offensive power, it can help her effectively farm for experience and gold early on. Also, it provides a neat amount of preliminary defense for Ruby so that she can still be considered durable in the early stages of the game. In the late stages of the game, you can freely exchange this item for another attack-boosting or defense-boosting item.

I must say that the Soul Reaper Item Build is actually a well-balanced build. It not only offers Ruby great offense, but also a slight amount of defense and an improved Lifesteal effect. Overall, this is the build to choose if you want to use Ruby as a ‘fighter.’

1. Beast Killer

  • Unique Passive (Gorge) – Increases physical and magic defense by 3 points every time a jungle monster is killed. This effect can stack up to 10 times. Also, the “Retribution” battle spell becomes applicable to enemy heroes by having the effect of reducing their Movement Speed by 70%, which gradually decays within 3 seconds. Using “Retribution” also temporarily grants your hero a shield that’s based on the hero’s total HP.

2. Magic Shoes

  • +10% Cooldown Reduction
  • +40 Movement Speed (Unique)

3. Haas’s Claw

  • +70 Physical Attack
  • +20% Lifesteal (Unique)
  • Unique Passive (Insanity) – Grants an extra 10% Lifesteal when HP drops below 40%.

6. Wings of the Apocalypse Queen

  • +15 Physical Attack
  • +1000 HP
  • +10% Cooldown Reduction
  • Unique Passive (Demonize) – Reduces the damage that the hero receives by 50% and increases the Lifesteal effect by 30% for 5 seconds when HP drops below 40%. This effect has a cooldown of 50 seconds.

Life Stealer Item Build

When it comes to life-stealing, the Life Stealer Item Build outshines the two other builds previously mentioned. This build does not only improve Ruby’s Lifesteal effect to the highest degree. It also acts as a set with items dedicated for tanking and support.

Although this build renders Ruby quite flimsy during the early stages of the game, once she completes her core items, she becomes a tough cookie to crack! This build is not only about recovering insane amounts of HP with her unparalleled Lifesteal effect. It is also about possessing enough defense to withstand the attacks from the enemies and having some debuffing power with the help of the Thunder Belt to slow them down. Not to mention, Ruby already has skills that are perfect for crowd control so she’s already a great support.

Lifesteal, defense, crowd control effects, and some attack power—what else do you need?! With this build, Ruby is ready to take on multiple enemies and annoy the heck out of them under her scythe. Just be sure that you have your allies rallying behind you to deal the decisive blows or else Ruby’s supportive role becomes all for naught.
