Item Build Ideas for Yi Sun-Shin

Without further ado, here are three item builds that synergize well with Yi Sun-shin’s ingenious tactical maneuvers. You can follow them to a tee or even tweak them a little bit. Do whatever it takes to be a legend!

  1. Adept Tactician
  2. One-Man Army
  3. War Veteran

1. Adept Tactician

This build highlights the tactical prowess of Yi Sun-shin. It focuses not on soloing, but on working harmoniously with the whole team. Having said that, this build caters importance on Yi Sun-shin’s skills and how he uses them rather than on dueling directly with the enemies using his basic attack.

How This Build Works

The main priority of the Adept Tactician build is cooldown reduction. The quicker the skills of Yi Sun-shin refresh, the better for him! This build offers a lot of attack power, so Yi Sun-shin’s skills rises in damage proportionally.

Timing is crucial for Yi Sun-shin in order to make this build work. By conserving mana and using skills only to deal the decisive blows, Yi Sun-shin can slowly cripple the enemy team from a safe distance. Especially with Yi Sun-shin’s Mountain Shocker ultimate skill, he can secure kills even from the farthest corners of the battlefield. Just make sure that you always pay absolute attention to the mini-map.

With this build, it is important to remember not to act alone. Work with your team and use your tactical skills to guide everyone to victory!

Since Yi Sun-shin is a very capable marksman, his power grows exceptionally high especially during the late stages of the game. For that reason, the One-Man Army build was made!

How This Build Works

This build allows Yi Sun-shin to stay in the front lines. As this build offers a huge amount of attack power and attack speed, Yi Sun-shin gains the valiance to clash with the enemies and come out alive if he exercises extreme caution.

The One-Man Army build may offer a lot of offense, but it doesn’t offer much-needed defense and survivability. The best way to act when using this build is to let your allies distract the enemies while you snipe from a safe distance. You can also always use Yi Sun-shin’s One-wave Step skill to make a quick escape.

Note that this build renders Yi Sun-shin squishy throughout the early stages and middle stages of the game. But once you complete this, ready for the late stage of the game, Yi Sun-shin becomes capable of toppling everything with his highly offensive attacks. Used right, this build can definitely turn Yi Sun-shin into a One-Man Army in the most crucial moments of the game.

3. War Veteran

The War Veteran build is the most no-nonsense item build for Yi Sun-shin. It’s simple yet very effective. But as plain as it looks, it can actually be only used efficaciously by hardened players.

How This Build Works

This build offers a fine balance between attack power, attack speed, and cooldown reduction. The key takeaway here is to farm early—fast and efficiently! That’s why the Raptor Machete exists in this build. By doing farming in the jungle areas of the battlefield early in the game, Yi Sun-shin can harvest plenty of experience and gold allowing him to level up and collect better items much faster. After completing your item set, you can exchange this item for a Malefic Roar for more damage.

By using this build, you take an oath that you will strike the enemies quickly and precisely. You will leave no room for any counterattack from them! The goal is to claim victory as fast as you can. You have your powerful basic attack and skills by your side, so there’s no need to worry about anything else. Also, you can use your allies to further advance your cause. I once saw a one man army YSS that used 3 lifesteal items namely: Demon Hunter Blade, Wind of Nature, and Endless Battle. The rest of his items were: Swift boots, Berserker's Fury, and Scarlet Phantom. Pretty OP guy, He wiped us all out all by himself.
