I am an electronics engineer by profession. I recently traveled to Europe. Now, I'm hoping to share my experiences in my travel.
Eulji Mundeok is the best infantry commander among all the epic commanders in Rise of Kingdoms. He is also a good nuker due to his active skill. This is one of the reasons why he is a great commander in both PVE and PVP. It is no wonder why free-to-play governors in Rise of Kingdoms try to max out Eulji Mundeok’s skills so they can use him as one of their march commanders.
However, maxing out his skills isn't enough to make him a good commander; you also have to build his talents the right way. Don’t worry, though, because this guide will show you the best way to build him into a great infantry commander for PVE and PVP.
Eulji Mundeok's Skills
Let us check out Eulji Mundeok’s skills first in order to help us choose his talents.
- Water Attack: Attacks the target and deals massive damage (Damage Factor 750). Decreases defense of the target by 25% for 2 seconds.
- Cold Welcome: Increases garrison defense by 5% when this commander is serving as garrison commander.
- Battle of Salsu: Increases the attack of infantry units by 4% and defense of infantry units by 4%.
- Strike Back: When attacked, Eulji Mundeok has a 10% chance to increase his own troops’ damage by 100% on the next turn.
- War and Peach (Expertise): Enhances Battle of Salsu. Increases the attack of infantry units by 15% and defense of infantry units by 15%.
Looking at his skills, Eulji Mundeok can be a great nuking commander and an infantry commander as well. His active skill’s significant damage factor and target’s defense reduction easily makes him a nuking commander. Plus, he can even further increase his damage once he activates his fourth skill, Strike Back. Activating it before he casts his active skill will put his nuking ability to a whole new level.
On the other hand, his third skill, Battle of Salsu, buffs infantry troops’ health and defense, thereby increasing his infantry troops’ ability to sustain damage. And it can also be further improved through his expertise, War and Peach, which you can unlock by maxing all of his skills.
Nuking vs. Infantry in the Talent Build
However, nuking and infantry do not really go well together. Nuking commanders are built to deal the most damage in each of their strikes. They participate well in short battles since their defense is comparatively lower than their offense. On the other hand, infantry commanders are known for their impressive defense. They are better in longer fights since they are capable of sustaining significant damage and it is also because they have average offense.
Eulji Mundeok is both a nuking and infantry commander, but there are far better nukers than him. Due to this, this guide will focus more on building this commander a great infantry commander that will be a strong adversary for PVE and PVP battles.
Talent Tree Build Guide for Eulji Mundeok
To fully maximize Eulji Mundeok as an infantry commander, unlocking all of the talents in the Infantry Talent Tree is recommended. Talents in the Attack Talent Tree will also be unlocked to increase damage and rage restoration of Eulji’s troops.
Attack Talent Tree
- Burning Blood
- Lord of War
First off, 3 talents in the Attack Talent Tree will be unlocked: Burning Blood, Lord of War and Effortless. A full infantry march is not really good in offense compared to its defense so we will ramp up Eulji’s Infantry March’s attack by unlocking these talents. Burning Blood will help him spamming his active skill by increasing rage restoration. And Lord of War & Effortless will increase the damage of Eulji’s troops.
Since full infantry are capable of sustaining damage, it is expected that they will be able to handle longer battles compared to other types of troops; thus, infantry marches can maximize Effortless’ full potential because it can build damage to the maximum limit.
Infantry Talent Tree
- Undying Fury
- Iron Spear
- Call of the Pack
Next, another 3 talents will be unlocked in the Infantry Talent Tree: Undying Fury, Iron Spear, and Call of the Pack. These talents will increase Eulji’s damage, defense, and rage restoration.
Attack Talent Tree
- Armored Joints
Before we unlock all of the remaining talents in the Infantry Talent Tree, Armored Joints from the Attack Talent Tree must be unlocked first. This will reduce the damage taken by Eulji’s troops.
Infantry Talent Tree
All of the prerequisite talents have been unlocked at this point, so this build will now focus on unlocking all the talents in the Infantry Talent Tree. It is recommended that you follow this order:
- Strong of Body
- Double-Headed Axe
- Hold The Line
- Snare of Thorns
- Elite Soldiers
- Fleet Foot
Strong of Body and Hold The Line will increase Eulji’s defense. Double-Headed Axe will increase his offense. Fleet Foot and Snare of Thorns will increase his full infantry’s march speed. Increasing his march’s march speed will help his troops fight better against cavalry units. And Elite Soldiers will increase his troops overall stats.
Even though he's an Epic Commander, this build will definitely make him a strong infantry commander for PVE and PVP.
Recommended Secondary Commander Skills
Eulji Mundeok can be paired with commanders having skills such as the following:
- Infantry Buffs: Any Commander having skills that buffs infantry stats is the best pair for Eulji. Make sure buff skills are able to increase at least two stats of an infantry troop.
- Heals/Buffs: Any commander that improves Eulji’s ability to sustain damage through healing skills or defense buffs is also a good pair to Eulji.
