I love playing "Rise of Kingdoms". And that's why I love sharing my guides, tips and tricks of this game.
With the addition of Ramessess II in Rise of Kingdoms, governors finally have a hard counter against high damage sustain and healing infantry commanders like Richard I. Ramessess I doesn’t have high nuking damage nor high AOE output damage as compared to other legendary archer commanders but he is best known in the game as a powerful debuffing archer commander. Through this debuffing archer commander, Ramesess II will totally change how infantry commanders should be used for open-field battles and reinforcing structures. With that being said, let’s take a look at this Ramessess Talent Tree Build Guide and see how we will be able to fully unlock his maximum potential.
How to Unlock Ramesses II?
Before we get into Ramessess II’s Talent Build, let’s check out how we can unlock this commander in Rise of Kingdoms. If you have already unlocked him in the game, then you can simply go directly to the talent tree build guide. But if you haven’t unlocked him, then here is how you can unlock him in the game.
- Wheel of Fortune - Ramessess II is only available in the Wheel of Fortune for older kingdoms. If your kingdom is fairly new, then you might probably have to wait for a while before gets offered in the Wheel of Fortune. But if in case you haven’t unlocked him from the Wheel of Fortune, don’t worry though, you might be able to get him from the Card King once he is available in the event.
Ramesses II's Skills Guide
- Ceremony of Karnak - Deals continuous damage to a single target (Damage Factor 800), and reducing the target's defense by 25% for 2 seconds.
- The Poem of Pentaur - Increases lead archery units' attack by 40% while on the map.
- Army of Amun - When armies led contains only archer units, decreases skill damage taken by 30%. There's a 10% chance when attacked to increase led troops' Attack by 40% and March Speed by 40%, lasts for 3 seconds.
- Nefertari's Companionship - Led troops' normal attacks have a 10% chance to heal slightly wounded units (Healing Factor 500) and increases troops' defense by 40% for 3 seconds.
- King of Kings (expertise) - Deals continuous damage to a single target (Damage Factor 1000), and reducing the target's defense by 30% for 2 seconds, and the target cannot receive any healing for 2 seconds.
Ramessess II does have a powerful active skill which can deal up to a Damage Factor of 1600. And his Damage Factor can increase even further through the defense reduction debuff by his active skill. But still, it is not as comparable to other heavy nuking legendary archer commanders like Yi-Seong Gye and Edward of Woodstock. But once you can unlock his expertise skill, he totally reaches a whole new level. In fact, he is the only legendary commander with such skill effect. With his expertise skill unlocked, he is now capable of disabling any healing received by his target. Through this effect, infantry commanders will be less capable of sustaining heavy damage. And that is exactly how Ramessess can be a deadly counter against defensive infantry commanders.
True, Ramessess II’s debuff is totally amazing and is unlike any other archer commanders. But his other buff skills are also worth mentioning. He does not only buff his archer troop’s attack by a significant percentage, but he also increases their defensive ability and march speed. Thanks to his skill damage reduction, defense bonus and healing, archer troops will be tankier on the battlefield. Plus, he’d be a great commander in open-field battles like Ark Of Osiris due to his bonus march speed. However, he is not recommended to be used as a defense commander due to his 2nd skill, The Poem of Pentaur. He is definitely a great legendary archer commander, but this also means he will be very specialized to archer-only marchers, unlike Yi-Seong Gye.
Regardless if he is not as powerful as a heavy nuker as Yi-Seong Gye, Ramessess’ capability to debuff a target and disables any healing the target receives is a game-changer. Any infantry rally or reinforcing infantry march will surely feel the wrath of a Ramessess I led archer rally.

Recommended Pairings for Ramesses II
Ramessess II Talent Build Guide will not be complete if we won’t be complete without the pairing guide for this commander. The following commanders below are the best archer commanders to pair with Ramessess II.
1.) Yi Seong-Gye – He is the best archer commander in the game. He does not only output huge AOE nuking damage but he also provides powerful archer buffs to his archer march. This complements the archer buffs or bonuses that Ramessess II provides to his archer troops.
2.) El Cid – If you want to specialize Ramessess II in silencing/debuffing his enemies, then you definitely would like to pair him El Cid. El Cid’s silence skill effect further extends the debuff that Ramessess II provides.
3.) Artemisia I – She is also an excellent pair with Ramessess II. The offensive and defensive archer buffs that Artemisia provides not only makes Ramessess II march deadly but also tanky as well. However, it is strongly recommended that Artemisia is the primary commander to make use of the Defense Talent Tree.
