I love giving tips and advice to help people in video games.
Orotheim, like many locations within the universe of Skyrim, is a cave. There are many locations you can explore in the game, but caves seem to be the most alluring to the adventuring mind. This might explain why there are so many caves in the game.
Orotheim is located southwest of Morthal. There are other ways to get to this spot, but Morthal is by far the easiest method. However, for those of you that like a challenge, you can also reach Orotheim by going south from Crabber's Shanty, east from Karthwasten, or even south from Solitude. Morthal is the one that makes the most sense.
What Will I Find Inside?
To be honest, there is not a lot to find inside. You'll mostly find many different types of mushrooms that will help you with your alchemy and potions. In fact, this cave is pretty small. The only formidable enemy here is the Bandit Chief. To be honest, they were easy to defeat. I did take a companion, but this was definitely not necessary.
You will find a chest right at the end of the cave. I say right at the end when this cave is really just one big room. This location will not be hard to traverse.
Is There Anything Hidden?
No, there is nothing major to discover here. The area to cover is actually pretty small. You will mostly find some potions, a few alcoholic drinks, and the odd coin purse with some gold.
You can also find a chain. Once you pull it, a rock will rise and show a pathway that leads right back to where you came from. All you have to do is drop down and walk back the way you came to leave Orotheim.
If you were to speak to Aslfur in Morthal before coming here, you will be paid to kill the bandits. So if you're looking to make some coin, consider that.
