  4. Explosionmancer

Summonmancer Build

The Necromancer is known for summoning a huge amount of minions. The build's play style is to overwhelm opponents with numbers while casting curses on enemies to support the army. You only need the patience to build your army first since it requires a corpse to summon a skeleton or revive a monster.

Skills

  • Raise Skeleton (Max): The main summoning skill of this build. This is already available at level 1.
  • Skeleton Mastery (Max): Improves the offensive and defensive capabilities of your skeletons, skeleton mages, and revived monsters.
  • Skeleton Mage (Max): This is for your powerhouse magic casters.
  • Clay Golem (Max): This is the most useful golem in general. It can take a lot of damage, can slow enemies, and can easily be summoned.

For the remainder of your skill points, distribute your points on these skills depending on your priority.

  • Revive: Verify the number of monsters you can handle first before spending more points here.
  • Decrepify: The best all-around curse. It softens up, slows, and weakens the damage dealt of targeted enemies.
  • Dim Vision: This is good for disabling range enemies.
  • Lower Resist: This is good for breaking enemies with immunity to elements.
  • Corpse Explosion: Your nuke skill for dealing massive damage. The damage it deals is based on the monster's life before it was killed.

For golems, you can use choose Iron Golem instead if you have a lot of good resources to spare. Or Fire Golem if you prefer a golem with Holy Fire aura.

Additionally, you can get an Act 2 mercenary that has might aura. This will make your army even more powerful.

Bonemancer Build

This is the most popular build in Diablo II: Resurrected according to multiple sources. This is a bone caster-type build that deals non-elemental magic damage. The build maxes out all synergies to provide maximum damage to Bone Spear and Bone Spirit.

You can switch between using Bone Spear or Bone Spirit depending on the situation. Bone Spear's projectiles is faster and pierces enemies. Bone Spirit has homing capabilities and does more damage, but it costs more mana and moves slower.

Skills

  • Bone Spear (Max): This is your bread and butter. It is your early to late game main damage-dealing skill.
  • Bone Spirit (Max): For dealing large damage.
  • Teeth (Max): Your level 1 damage-dealing skill until you can unlock Bone Spear. Max this since it increases the damage of Bone Spear and Bone Spirit.
  • Bone Wall (Max): This can be used to temporarily block incoming enemies. Max this since it increases the damage of Bone Spear and Bone Spirit.
  • Bone Prison (Max): If used strategically, this is an absolutely effective defensive skill in necromancer's arsenal. You can either use it to trap enemies or surround the Necromancer to serve as a tank. Max this since it increases the damage of Bone Spear and Bone Spirit.

  • Poison Explosion (Max): Max this to increase the damage of Poison Nova.
  • Poison Nova (Max): A devastating skill that deals massive poison damage to nearly the entire screen. This is the main damage dealer of this build.
  • Lower Resist (Max): This is very useful for breaking enemy immunity to elements. You can choose not to max Lower Resist to give way for other skills.

Use your remaining skill points to either get Clay Golem, Bone Armor, or distribute points evenly if you want to have both.

Explosionmancer Build

The Explosionmancer build maximizes the potential of Corpse Explosion to nuke enemies. The build relies on its party or hired mercenary to make the first kill in order to have the initial corpse to use.

Avoid mercenaries that use cold-based attacks. They leave no corpse after killing a monster.

Skills

  • Corpse Explosion (Max): This is the primary damage dealer for this build. Corpse Explosion's damage is based on the corpse's life before it was killed. Maxing this skill will provide a better radius for hitting more enemies.
  • Amplify Damage (Max): Corpse explosion is 50% physical and 50% fire damage. Amplify Damage lowers monster's physical resistance, allowing Corpse Explosion to deal more damage. It also breaks physical immunity. Maxing the skill lets you affect more enemies as it increases the skill's radius.
  • Fire Golem (Max): This can tank and deal a reasonable amount of damage thanks to its Holy Fire aura skill.
  • Bone Armor (Max): Increases your defense by absorbing some attacks.

For the remainder of your skills, distribute the synergy skills to Bone Wall, Bone Prison, Golem Mastery, Clay Golem, Blood Golem, Iron Golem, or Summon Resist.

Stat Points Distribution

  • Strength: Place enough points here to wear the best gear.
  • Dexterity: Place enough points here to wear your desired shield until you get max block.

  • Increase maximum life
  • Increase maximum mana
  • Enhanced defense
  • Faster run/walk

Hybridmancer

Hybridmancer combines spells and summons to make it more adaptable to situations. Since the game has limited skill points, you shouldn't max out synergy skills. You should just distribute them equally.

Skills

  • Raise Skeleton (Max): The main fighters.
  • Raise Skeleton Mage (Max): The ranged damage dealers.
  • Skeleton Mastery (Max): For buffing up your skeletons.
  • Bone Spear (Max): Your primary spell for dealing damage.

Then evenly distribute the remainder of your skill points on the following skills.

  • Bone Wall
  • Bone Prison
  • Bone Spirit
  • Clay Golem: It's still useful even for just few levels.
  • Decrepify
  • Lower Resist

You can also choose poison spells instead of bone spells. Combining skeletons and poison is also effective. Max out Poison Nova, then evenly distribute the remaining skill points on its synergy skills.

  • Poison Nova (Max)
  • Poison Dagger
  • Poison Explosion

Stat Points Distribution

  • Strength: Just put enough points here to meet the gear requirements.
  • Dexterity: No need to put points here unless you're planning to achieve some block.
  • Vitality: Put the rest of your skill points here.
