Hold your Magikarps now everyone, because this page is an all-essential guide for your Magikarp jumping needs. This Magikarp Jump Event Guide was tailored in order to help you trigger all the possible special events in the game, as well as help you gain more Jumping Power (JP), Coins, League Points (LP), and even Diamonds.

At the moment, there's a total of forty-six (46) special events in this game. Most are easy to trigger, but the others are not so simple. And thus, this event guide was born! Whether you want to unlock every available event, gain lots of stuff, or just complete the game—this guide will surely help you in your jumping quest.

All Magikarp Jump Events and How to Trigger Them

Event No. 01: Old Rod

Unlock Condition: Emerge Victorious in the Fast League

Description: Your Magikarp finds food underwater. You can either approach the food or leave it. By approaching it, you can either get a lot of JP if it really is just food or lose some JP if the food turns out to be bait and is connected to an old rod fishing line. On the other hand, if you simply leave the food alone, you’ll have more time to rest leaving your Magikarp with more JP.

Event No. 02: Nugget

Unlock Condition: Defeat Everyone in the Quick League

Description: A mysterious man comes by to share with you a nugget of wisdom. Actually, he literally gives you a nugget, which you can convert into lots of coins.

Event No. 03: Is It Treasure?

Unlock Condition: Defeat Everyone in the Quick League

Description: There’s a Poké Ball on the road and it’s up to you whether to inspect it or leave it alone. If you inspect it, you could get some coins or items. But, there’s also a big chance that’s it’s actually a Voltorb, which will explode on contact with your Magikarp and fry it. Conversely, if you leave it alone, you get more rest time, which in turn gives you some JP.

Event No. 04: Our Eyes Met

Unlock Condition: Seize Triumph in the Heal League

Description: A strange man comes to stare at your eyes. If your eyes meet with one another, then a battle ensues with either JP or a support candy at stake. If you choose to ignore his gaze, then you can rest early and get some JP.

Event No. 05: Out of Nowhere

Unlock Condition: Compete and Win Everything in the Friend League

Description: As you go home to the pond, you encounter a tree with some berries on it. Now, it’s up to you whether you want to snag some berries or just leave them alone. If you try to snag some berries by making your Magikarp jump high, there’s a chance that you’ll get a considerable amount of jump. But, there’s the risk that a Pidgeotto will come snatch your Magikarp instead. On the other hand, if you leave the tree and the berries alone, then you’ll get some JP by resting.

Event No. 06: Idol Riches

Unlock Condition: Finish the Heavy League

Description: Mayor Karp comes by in order to give you something that came from the townspeople. As it turns out, the townspeople admire your dedication, and thus wants to support you in any way. Their gift? It’s a Training Soda that will restore a Training Point.

Event No. 07: Massage a Karp

Unlock Condition: No Known Requirement

Description: Your Magikarp seems tense. Mayor Karp notices this and gives your Magikarp a soothing massage. After the massage, your Magikarp becomes more energized, causing it to gain a Training Point.

Event No. 08: Everyone’s Hero

Unlock Condition: No Known Requirement

Description: A young kid approaches you and shows you his appreciation for your dedication. In the process, your Magikarp either gains a Training Point or some JP.

Event No. 09: Roddy Tackle

Unlock Condition: Defeat Everyone in the Quick League

Description: A fisherman named Roddy Tackle drops by in order to support you by giving you some coins. What a generous fella!

Event No. 10: Unsinkable Magikarp

Unlock Condition: Lose a Match in any League

Description: After losing a league match, a fan comes to support, motivate, and encourage you. Your newfound motivation will then a yield a free Training Point.

Event No. 11: Go, Magikarp, Go!

Unlock Condition: Defeat Everyone in the Quick League

Description: A man named Mr. Yoso comes by in order to deliver a message from a fan. Enclosed with the message are some coins for you to freely spend.

Event No. 12: All That Glitters

Unlock Condition: Compete and Win Everything in the Friend League

Description: Magikarp sees something sparkly underwater. It might be treasure or it might be trash—it’s up to you whether your Magikarp claims it or not. If you decide to claim it and it is really treasure, then you’ll get some precious Diamonds. If you decide to claim it and it is trash, then you’ll lose some JP. Otherwise, if you leave it alone, then Magikarp can get more JP by resting.

Event No. 13: Jumping Lesson

Unlock Condition: Emerge Victorious in the Fast League

Description: A man approaches you and offers a special jump course. You can either enroll in the said course or ignore it. If you do enroll, your Magikarp might gain or lose some JP. If you ignore the man offering the course, then you can rest soon and your Magikarp will naturally gain some JP.

Event No. 14: Mystery Drink

Unlock Condition: Win Every Battle in the Great League

Description: A scientist comes buy and offers you a mystery drink. Drink it and your Magikarp might restore all its Training Points if the drink is good. If the drink is not good, you will lose JP. Nonetheless, if you refuse the drink, then you’ll get some JP.

Event No. 15: Magikarp Adrift

Unlock Condition: Defeat Everyone in the Quick League

Description: Magikarp has gone adrift! Oh no! But wait, if it waits for someone to come find it, it will gain JP. If not, and it still searches for you, it will some lose JP.

Event No. 16: Snoozing with Snorlax

Unlock Condition: Defeat Everyone in the Quick League, Have Snorlax as Support

Description: Snorlax is up to its old antics again. It is sleeping and is blocking the path. And what does your Magikarp do? It hops on the belly of the Snorlax and sleeps with it. By doing so, it restores its Training Points to the max!

Event No. 17: Tag Battle

Unlock Condition: Compete and Win Everything in the Friend League, Have Pikachu as Support

Description: Magikarp and Pikachu are out to take a relaxing walk. Then suddenly, a wild Pidgeotto appears! Magikarp uses Splash but nothing happens. Pikachu uses Thundebolt and drives the Pidgeotto away. Magikarp gains some JP from this death-defying experience.

Event No. 18: Showing off Magikarp

Unlock Condition: Beat the Luxury League

Description: Oh look, a fan has come just to see your Magikarp. With this event motivating you, you get a free Training Point.

Event No. 19: Sage Advice

Unlock Condition: Win Every Battle in the Great League

Description: After losing a league match, a wise Magikarp comes to give your Magikarp some helpful advice. By taking the advice to mind and heart, your Magikarp will gain a lot of JP.

Event No. 20: Trade for Gyarados

Unlock Condition: Beat the Luxury League

Description: A scientist comes by and makes the offer of trading a Gyarados with your Magikarp. Of course, you decline and gain some JP. After all, this is Magikarp Jump game and not a Gyarados Jump game.

Event No. 21: Lost Luvdisc

Unlock Condition: Emerge Victorious in the Fast League

Description: A Luvdisc is lost and is need of your help. By helping the poor thing, you are rewarded with some precious Diamonds. It really pays off to be a good person!

Event No. 22: Easygoing Slowpoke

Unlock Condition: Finish the Heavy League, Have Slowpoke as Support

Description: After losing a league battle and undergoing training, an easygoing Slowpoke comes by and restores your League Play. Wow, what a thoughtful Slowpoke!

Event No. 23: Watch and Learn

Unlock Condition: Emerge Victorious in the Fast League

Description: After training, a boy comes and tells you something about how he is awestruck watching your Magikarp train. With this, you gain a Training Point for you to train more.

Event No. 24: Slacker Magikarp

Unlock Condition: Defeat Everyone in the Quick League

Description: Magikarp is slacking off and doesn’t seem to put much effort in its training. So, you are given the option to either “Scold It” or “Don’t Scold It.” If you choose “Scold It,” it might get demotivated and lose JP or it might get encourage and gain JP or a Training Point. On the contrary, if you choose “Don’t Scold It,” it will be able to rest sooner and gain some JP.

Event No. 25: Macho Karp

Unlock Condition: Win Every Battle in the Great League

Description: A scientist comes by and wants to conduct an experiment with your Magikarp. If you accept, there’s a chance that your Magikarp will gain one max level point. If the experiment fails, your Magikarp evolves into a Gyarados. If you decline the experimentation offer, you will gain some JP.

Event No. 26: Fan Mail

Unlock Condition: Emerge Victorious in the Fast League

Description: Congratulations, it looks like you have an admirer. Mayor Karp delivers the fan mail to you. You open the letter and you get an item—an LP Restore!

Event No. 27: A Challenge

Unlock Condition: Win Every Battle in the Great League

Description: Oh look, someone has heard about you and is trying to challenge you to a showdown. Mayor Karp gives you the letter of challenge and you either gain lots of JP or a Training Point from the flattery and the motivation.

Event No. 28: Many Wise Words

Unlock Condition: Win Every Battle in the Great League

Description: As the title says, this is about many wise words. The mayor comes to give a speech about Magikarp. You can nothing by triggering this event. The only thing you get is knowledge.

Event No. 29: Research Money

Unlock Condition: Seize Triumph in the Heal League

Description: Mayor Karp will come to you after a league match a give you lots of coins for collecting and raising many Magikarp with different patterns.

Event No. 30: The Fun Way Home

Unlock Condition: Occurs After Training

Description: After training, your Magikarp meets up with the other Pokémon to have fun. Since having fun is a highly motivational experience, all skills from your Support Pokémon are magically restored.

Event No. 31: Cheap, Cheap

Unlock Condition: Conquer the Ultra League

Description: The Man of Mystery drops by to offer you a prize. If you run away, you can rest early and gain more JP. If you accept, you might lose Coins or claim a Training Soda.

Event No. 32: Name Rater

Unlock Condition: Occurs After Training

Description: A Name Rater approaches you and rates your Magikarp's nickname. After rating it, the Name Rater becomes so pleased that she gives you some Diamonds.

Event No. 33: Say Cheese!

Unlock Condition: Occurs After Training

Description: After intense training, Mayor Karp comes along to take a picture of your Magikarp. Since Magikarp loves pictorials, it becomes overjoyed and a friendship Pokémon might even join it. As a result, the participant friendship Pokémon gets its skill restored. 3…2…1…say cheese!

Event No. 34: 500 Coins

Unlock Condition: Occurs After a League Match

Description: A sketchy man approaches you and tries to sell you a Magikarp for 500 Coins. Whilst making a decision, the sketchy man gets caught and your Magikarp gains some JP. Phew, that was close!

Event No. 35: Dumpster Diver

Unlock Condition: Occurs After Training

Description: A dumpster is in from of you and you’ve got two choices: (1) To Dive In, or (2) To Leave. If you choose to dive in, then you might gain a Skill Restore or lose some JP. If you choose to leave, then you’ll gain some JP for not unnecessarily overexerting your Magikarp.

Event No. 36: A Mysterious Feather

Unlock Condition: Occurs After Training

Description: You discover a mysterious feather on your way home. You can either investigate it or ignore it. If you choose to investigate it, you might gain JP or lose some JP. If you choose to ignore, then you’ll get some JP from the extra time of rest.

Event No. 37: Let’s Be Friends

Unlock Condition: Occurs After Training, Have a Mimikyu as Support

Description: After training, there’s a chance that your Magikarp will find itself in a forest. You are presented with two options: (1) To Flee, or (2) To Explore. If you choose to flee, you’ll gain some JP from the extra time of rest. If you choose to explore, you may gain or lose some JP, or encounter Mimikyu and get a Power Up.

Event No. 38: Is It Feebas?

Unlock Condition: No Known Requirement

Description: A Feebas randomly appears in the pond. If you tap it, it will give you lots of JP.

Event No. 39: Food Fever

Unlock Condition: No Known Requirement

Description: A Manaphy randomly appears in the pond. If you tap it, it will call lots of Pokémon, which will, in turn, leave lots of food.

Event No. 40: Be Gone!

Unlock Condition: Turn the TV on and off seven times. Then, when it shows static, turn it on and off again seven times.

Description: After messing with the TV and doing your training, a mysterious girl in white that looks like Sadako will show up. You are given two options: “Stay” or “Leave.” If you choose “Stay,” nothing happens. If you choose “Leave,” your Magikarp will become braver from the horrific experience and gain a level.

Event No. 41: Hop, Skip & Whump!

Unlock Condition: Tap the Surface of the Pond and Make your Magikarp Jump Repeatedly

Description: By carelessly making your Magikarp go wild jumping in the air, a Pidgeotto snatches it away from you. Awww…too bad for you and your Magikarp. It probably will turn out to be fine sushi for the Pidgeotto though.

Event No. 42: You’re No Magikarp!

Unlock Condition: Re-fish Magikarp Four Consecutive Times by Expending Diamonds

Description: If you think that only Magikarp can be fished in the pond, then you thought wrong! Dratini can be fished there as well. Of course, Dratini can’t participate in the Magikarp Jump league battles so you have to fish for a new Magikarp. Also, you gain a Skill Restore by triggering this event.

Event No. 43: You Can Do It!

Unlock Condition: Lose in Three League Matches Consecutively

Description: After losing pathetically three times in a row, a man will console and encourage you and your Magikarp and give you three (3) LP Restores.

Note that this is a one-time event.

Event No. 44: Adios, Gyarados!

Unlock Condition: Tap your Magikarp Repeatedly until the Everstone Breaks

Description: Since your Everstone is broken, your Magikarp can now freely evolve. After leveling-up, it will evolve into a Gyarados. And because Gyarados are not allowed to participate in the Magikarp Jump league matches, it’s goodbye to your Gyarados and hello to a new Magikarp.

Next time, try not to break your all-important Everstone.

Note that this is a one-time event.

Event No. 45: Let's Push It!

Unlock Condition: Tap the Bronze Eevee Statue in the Decorations Shop

Description: This is a secret event. Unlike the other items in the Decorations Shop, only the Bronze Eevee Statue will respond once you tap on it. Alas, it's a secret button; and by pushing it, you successfully triggered a secret event and you will be rewarded a Skill Restore for your discovery.

Note that this is a one-time event.

Event No. 46: Transforming Magikarp

Unlock Condition: Fish Up a New Magikarp

Description: While fishing up a new Magikarp, you might notice a rod facing the other way. If you pick up and use the peculiar rod, you’ll be fishing up a Ditto posing as a Magikarp instead of a usual one. By triggering this event, you unlock the Ditto Cushion in the shop.

Note that this is a one-time event.

      Actually the requirement for manaphy is to deplete all your training points at least once. After that Manaphy will start show My up.
