TMs, HMs, TMs, HMs. You wouldn't get very far in any Pokémon game without moves, and TMs and HMs are the surest path to improving your pokemon's abilities. This has not changed at all in Pokémon X and Y.

This list covers the TM number, location, and (where applicable) cost of the many TMs in Pokémon X and Y. If in doubt, refer to this list to locate a move. You can find a particular move by hitting CTRL + F or Command + F, depending on your OS, and entering the name of the move. The Search function will jump you right to it.

(This list is almost complete, save for a few TMs here and there which I have not yet located. As I find them - or as other people point them out - it will be updated.)

TMs

Technical Machines teach your pokémon the majority of their moves. They're either found in the field as yellow item balls, given to you by people, or purchased from vendors in Poke Marts and in the Battle Maison. Moves learned via TM can freely be overwritten by other moves. As with Generation V, TMs can be used over and over.

TM 01 - Hone Claws - Located on Route 5. Look for a large, purple flower field in the northwest of the area. You'll have to grind across bars to get at it.

TM 02 - Dragon Claw - Found at the top of a waterfall near the summit of Victory Road.

HMs

Hidden Machines teach your pokémon moves which can be used in and out of combat. Most HMs are given to you automatically as you proceed through the game, and must be used to circumvent various obstacles. Like TMs, HMs can be used over and over. Unlike TMs, HM moves cannot be overwritten by other moves; they must first be unlearned via the Move Deleter in Dendemille Town.

HM 04 - Strength - Given to you automatically in the east end of Cyllage City.

HM 05 - Waterfall - Received after beating Shauna, Tierno, and Trevor on Route 19.

Hey I did the tm thing and I got double team at 9:00 am instead of at 5:00am. The others were right on time. Is this a glitch?

Draco Meteor isn't a TM move, you have to talk to a move tutor to get one of your Pokémon to learn it (don't know where, though)

Yeah, the title on Route 8's article got mucked up and accidentally changed to Route 9. Obviously got reflected in this as well. My bad.

      Found it on Route 8.

TM 19. Route 9 has no surfable areas, it's where you ride the Rhyhorn. Different route perhaps?

Yeah, I just got X-Scissor, actually. I missed that entire section of Azure Bay on my first visit, for some reason. About to edit it in. Thanks.

You are missing TM 81 X-Scissor its in azure bay . head to an island on the left that has the advanced trainer tip and head south left and follow a small path to a hidden grassy area. The TM is right at the bottom of the patch

I swear I got two on the same day, but there's a cheat around that, as well, if you want all of the TMs on the same day. Just change the date on your 3DS as well as the time. Set it a day ahead. I tested three TMs today with no problem.

TM 77 - She usually doesn't give it to you a night so aim for the day. Wait a FULL 24 hours not just getting it in the evening and then in the morning.

Thanks, mart, I'll try that time out.

TM 10 is Hidden Power. Typo. My bad. Outrage isn't a TM move, as far as I know; you'll have to get it through natural progression or breeding.

Brick Break is not in the main section of the mine, it's in one of the other two entrances. Leave the main shaft and go southeast. I'm pretty sure it's still on the high ground.

    • profile image

      Glaceon Fan 3 years ago

And i'm also having trouble finding Brick Break, I go into the mine but i can't find it anywhere

Thanks, Lightning. I haven't gotten her to give me any other TMs yet - every time I visit her she tells me to come back at a different time tomorrow, regardless of when I visit her. It's very annoying. Do you happen to remember when you picked up Psych Up?

Someone, yes, Earthquake is up there. TM 26. Just use CTRL + F (or Command + F, depending on your OS) and type it in, and you'll go right to it.

    • profile image

      Is Earthquake up there?

    • profile image

      Lightning07 3 years ago

TM 77 Psych Up is given by the Hex Maniac in the Anister Pokémon Center (same place as Flamethrower)

TM 97 Dark Pulse is found on Route 16 accessed from Route 15 by going into the river and using Surf and Waerfall.
