Poppy lives near Tokyo and likes to read novels and play video games, especially fantasy RPGs.

Since its release in the 1990s as a video game series and anime, the Pokémon franchise has skyrocketed in popularity and is now recognized all over the world. Games, manga comics, movies, trading cards, and merchandise is never in short supply, especially in Japan.

With new games coming out every year and a continuing anime show, this fantastic franchise continues to delight generation after generation who collect, trade, and battle Pokémon in hopes of completing their Pokédexes and perhaps becoming Champion.

Shiny Pokémon have been an exciting feature since the Gold and Silver installations of the handheld games. Shinies are extremely rare, with only having a chance of appearing once in thousands of encounters in most games, and are exciting to find! Here is a list of the top ten coolest-looking Shiny Pokémon in Generation 3, or Pokémon 252 to 386.

Another Ghost-type Pokémon of Generation 3 is Shuppet, a small, spherical creature likely named for its resemblance to a "shadow puppet." In his Shiny design, Shuppet's dark blue coat turns a sort of turquoise, a stark contrast to its original and a delight to any Trainer lucky enough to encounter him.

Absol is one of the most memorable Dark-type Pokémon out there. He was portrayed as a wise giver of advice in the Game Boy Advance games Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Red and Blue and also appears as a Spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Type: Steel/Psychic

Metagross is a powerful and robotic Steel- and Psychic-type Pokémon and the evolved form of Metang. It is one of the few non-Legendary Pokémon that is always genderless.

His Shiny form looks even more badass, exchanging his orange fur for black and the rings on his sides become yellow. Give me a gothic Camerupt any day!
