Kenzie needed a quick escape from real-life pressures, and found "The Sims 4." She now enjoys playing, writing, and YouTubing the game.
Yes, I Overshot My Target—A Lot!
I love when my Sims have babies and raise a family, but 10 babies at once? I didn't even think that was possible! I found out that it was. It's almost like my Sims decided they were going to go for the "100 baby challenge" without me.
It's been crazy, but admittedly I am in love with my big family. Let me tell you how it all happened.
Look Behind Her...
Elyse as a Teen
Meet Elyse. She was pretty much randomly generated teen by the CaS (Create a Sim) mode of the game, though I think I changed her hair to long and red. As soon as Elyse was a young adult out on her own, she began dating a really hot guy—who turned out to be married. Then divorced. Then married again.
It was a tumultuous, on again/off again relationship, and she accidentally got pregnant on their last encounter.
Elyse and Her Hot Baby Daddy
Elyse and Kinga, an NPC who lived in her neighborhood, always got along well. As Elyse's relationship with her baby daddy was falling apart, she and Kinga started autonomously flirting with each other. The day after being done with the baby daddy for good, Elyse got a call from Kinga asking her out on a date. She went, and well, let's just say that the love bar started filling in pretty quickly.
Kinga asked Elyse to be her girlfriend, and Elyse jumped and cried "yes!"

True Love at Last
Both the friendship bar and love bar were at 100%, and the two were listed as "soul mates." So I moved Kinga in with Elyse, who gave birth to twins.
One night, when they were out on a date and taking a break from the twins, Elyse autonomously proposed.

And Then They Were Wed
Happily Ever After
Through the miracles of modern Sim-technology, Kinga was able to impregnate Elyse two more times. They achieved their career goals, raised four great kids—twin boys and two girls—and they never fell out of love. Life was blissful.
Happy, Devoted Parents
Where Things Went Wrong
What I didn't realize at the time was the power of the mods, or game modifications made by fans. I had inherited my computer and Sims 4 account from someone, and they had a bunch of mods installed. At the time I started playing, I didn't know what mods were and I didn't want to mess with them.
Apparently, some of the mods I had resulted in the most shocking pregnancy ever:
- One allowed for more than eight Sims to occupy a single lot.
- One allowed a chance for a higher number of multiples in a single pregnancy—six, as it turned out.
- One allowed for the initiator of woohoo in a same-sex relationship to have a chance of impregnating the target of woohoo
And Then I Made Things Worse
Without understanding anything about mods, I tried to figure out how I could help Kinga and Elyse conceive.
- I used their aspiration points to buy the fertility trait for each of them.
- I sent them both to the spa for fertility-boosting massages.
- I put their apartment on a ley line, which in the game allows for a greater chance of multiples. I thought it would be neat if Elyse had twins again.
My efforts did not go unrewarded.
Actually, it was more of a case of "be careful what you wish for," because I got what I hoped for . . . in abundance.
It Was Positive—Twice
I knew Elyse was pregnant before she even took the test. She woke up with the same kind of mood swings she had in her first pregnancy. I sent her to the bathroom to take the pregnancy test, and sure enough, she was pregnant.
I was looking for Kinga when I found her in the kitchen—and she too was having a familiar mood swing! Could she have gotten pregnant as well from the encounter?
A pregnancy test for her confirmed it—they were both pregnant!
Then, the Shock
I did some searching and found out there was a way to tell if your Sim was pregnant with multiples. So I checked Elyse.
Yes, she was pregnant with multiples—but far beyond what I ever expected! It said she was pregnant with three male and two female babies. Quintuplets!
So I check Kinga, and I thought I was reading it wrong at first. She, too, was pregnant with three male and two female babies!
Two sets of quintuplets . . . or was it decatuplets (is that even a thing)? Yes, it's two different wombs, but all 10 babies were conceived from the same encounter by the same parents.
Either way, Kinga and Elyse were going to be having 10 babies!
Thankfully both Sims were healthy and generally happy, however hormones did run amok.
One night out, I discovered the normally even-tempered Kinga screaming her head off at some woman at the bar. I have no idea what riled her up, but she unleashed a fury, unlike anything I'd ever seen before.
Did I mention Kinga is a health and wellness coach and a master at things like yoga and meditation? A hothead she is not.
One morning, poor Elyse came downstairs to make breakfast. I didn't have to look at her moodlets to tell she was sad from a mood swing; her lip was quivering and her eyebrows furrowed as she made her scrambled eggs.
Then she turned around to make tea, and the teapot broke down. Elyse broke down, too—she collapsed into hysterics.

Of Course They Went Into Labor at the Same Time
And Gave Birth Simultaneously, Too
It Was No Mistake
I'd often wondered if there was a glitch exaggerating the number of babies... maybe they were having three males and two females collectively, not simultaneously. But no... it was no mistake. Ten babies came—six boys and four girls, with 100 fingers and 100 toes.

The New Mamas Had Their Work Cut out for Them
Immediately after birth, all 10 babies needed feeding and changing, but the two moms took it like pros. One by one, they got the job done. They're even breastfeeding, which is quite an undertaking.
They Did It!
Then They Did . . . It
It wasn't long before the lovebirds were at it again. About five minutes after settling down their 10 newborns, I caught them sneaking off to the sauna together.
Now That's Love
The Adventures Are Just Beginning
I have only been playing Sims for about three months, and I've only had a handful of baby Sims. I thought Elyse's twins were a chore! For those interested, I'll keep you posted about what it's like to care for 10 babies at once.
